A railway engineer takes on more than he bargained for when he plans to build a new track through an isolated town, to help foil the frequent stagecoach robberies by the town's bandits. To protect their own interests, the bandits rally the already hostile townsfolk and, to further hinder the engineer's plans, he is blamed for the death of a local newsman.
