Magical Pop’n for Super Nintendo is a rare Japanese video game that combines classic Japanese animation with exciting gameplay. Enjoy retro console gaming and adorable characters as you work your way through the lair of the Demon King. In Magical Pop’n, you play the Princess, who rules a magical kingdom called Go’ahl. The Princess is also a sorceress, and she mainly uses magic to defend her kingdom. When the Demon King invades her kingdom and steals a powerful gemstone from her palace, she must enter his realm to retrieve it. Magical Pop’n for Japanese Super Nintendo Entertainment System consoles falls under the platformer genre. You use the right arrow button to scroll sideways and move forward and the up arrow to jump. The game includes six stages. You get three lives and a single laser beam spell as an attack at the beginning of the game, but you can learn new spells and gain extra lives throughout the game. As you move through each stage in Magical Pop’n, you defeat enemies, such as bats and penguins. and collect coins. Three coins give you an extra life. Discovering treasure chests boosts your health levels. At the end of each stage, you must defeat a boss before moving onto the next level. Additional spells you can learn during the game include the ice spell, grappling hook, and the ability to climb walls. The gameplay in Magical Pop’n is similar to the popular Metroid SNES games. You play in single-player mode only, so you do not need any additional controllers to enjoy this title. Polestar and Pack-In-Video released Magical Pop’n on March 10, 1995. The game was released exclusively in Japan for Super Famicom games consoles, which are the Japanese versions of North American SNES games systems. The game is not compatible with other games systems such as Nintendo 64, NES, Sega Genesis, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, or PSP. It is also not compatible with North American SNES consoles. Super Famicom ROM games cartridges lack two holes that connect to SNES consoles, so they cannot connect properly. However, this is a fantastic game for fans of Japanese Famicom gaming and retro games collectors. Magical Pop’n includes Japanese voiceovers and text instructions, with Ai Iijima as the voice of the Princess. The original box includes cover art by Takami Akai.
